More info about GeocachingMag
We are delighted to present the very first issue of the GeocachingMag a new online magazine, especially for us geocachers!
Some of you are already familiar with the printed Geocaching Magazine, which is available in German and will continue to be published. Now we are taking a new approach and bringing you geocaching regularly in digital form.
Why an online magazine?
Because it allows us to reach you in a timely and flexible manner, regardless of shipping or waiting times. And because it enables us to offer the magazine in several languages in the future - so that geocachers worldwide can participate. We are planning regional editions for Europe, America and possibly other regions - but little by little, step by step and with great care.
This first issue is our starting signal - and we know that not everything is perfect yet. That's why we are looking forward to your Feedback instructed: What do you like? What can we do better? What topics would you like to see?
Get involved with your ideas! Help to make the GeocachingMag into a real community magazine that reflects your experiences, wishes and stories.
GeocachingMag is a project from the community, for the community: by geocachers for geocachers. Behind it are an editorial team, a technical team and many volunteer authors and supporters. We all hope that you will be just as enthusiastic about our new magazine as we have been in developing it with so much joy and commitment.
The accompanying print magazine Geocaching Magazin in German will of course continue to be available and can be ordered from here can be ordered. Because the printed version of the magazine is also always nice to read.
Have fun reading and browsing - we look forward to your feedback and ideas and to creating something beautiful together!
Your team from GeocachingMag
Current status of developments
Oh dear, we have many more ideas about what we want to implement: such as integrating videos, audio, links to interesting sites and much more. And of course, not everything has been technically implemented and perfectly tested yet. In the future, the magazine should work on cell phones like an app, articles should also be offered individually and there should also be different subscription models.
At the moment, we are working on a sales function and until that is ready, we have a Donate button which you can use to send us a donation. The planned sales price will be between 4 and 5 euros in order to be able to pay all additional service providers (Paypal, Stripe, TranslationPress, Deepl, web hosting providers and a few more) as well as other costs in the company.
Join us - become a translator for GeocachingMag!
To make our magazine perfectly readable worldwide, we would like to work with geocachers who would like to check small sections of the issues and improve the translations.
What can you expect?
- You get exclusive access to a section of the latest issue.
- You voluntarily support us in adapting technical terms and formulations perfectly.
- You don't need to be a tech pro - everything runs very simply via our website.
How does it work?
- We are looking for 2-3 readers per language per issue.
- Each translates or controls only a small section.
- The focus is on fun and a passion for geocaching!
Your efforts will be rewarded:
- You will receive advance access to the issue.
- You become part of the GeocachingMag team.
- We are happy to mention you by name in the imprint as a member of the Lanuage Review Team.
- You help to connect geocaching even more worldwide!
